Keeping coffee fresh
Coffee loses its aroma to four things: light, air, heat and moisture. Stored well, it stays fresh for two to three weeks after opening.
How to store it
In the original bag with its aroma valve, tightly closed
In a cool, dark place – not next to the stove
Buy smaller bags and reorder more often
What about the fridge?
Better not. Condensation forms when you take it out, and coffee absorbs smells. Freezing works for larger stocks – in portions and airtight.
Whole beans or ground?
Ground coffee loses its aroma within hours, whole beans within weeks. Grind fresh if you can.

Every one of our bags shows the roasting date – not just a best-before date.
